I was giving them their reminders on the way home from school, so they wouldn't get sidetracked by play time before remembering to take in their drinks and backpacks.
"Take in your cups. Put your backpacks on the hooks. And if you have to make another trip to the car to clean out the trash, then do that too. THEN you may go play with your friends, but you need to be sure to pick up the car first."
How funny when my 5-Y-O asked in confusion, "How do you want us to pick the car up? That's gonna be too hard."
Then under his breath to his brother in the back seat, "Is she just kidding around with us?"

I prayed for you last night after I read that post. Sometimes we're just tired! Let's see...our WRE is in OKC, but we're not too far from Edmond, it'd be great to meet sometime especially since we both have kindergartens. As for your MIL I haven't ever met her but I have seen her around TCC. As I told you earlier it's an amazing place with wonderful people. I checked out Ashley's blog today, sweet baby girl! Kids really DO say the cutest things don't they? Your 5-y-o sounds soo cute!
oh that is too funny! Sometimes we don't realize the things we say and how kids will take them literally!
